Subarna was born in a Bengalee family in India and went through the usual grind of extra-curricular activities along with formal education during her childhood. However, she was always looking for more meaning in life. She studied engineering and then came to the US for MS and PhD. Within a few years, she realized, through her own experiences and that of others, that academic degrees, commonly sought-after jobs, relationships, wealth, name, fame… nothing could fill the ever-growing void within.
In 2014, she left for the 2-year Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai, Mumbai, India and studied at the feet of Swami Bodhatmanandaji. Today, under her Acharya’s guidance and instructions she is teaching Vedanta in Bellevue where she lives with her husband Manavender Reddy.
